“Ulting Wick, a Garden of Change” – Lou Nicholls
Lou is the head gardener at a gem of a garden in Essex called Ulting Wick. A private garden that opens for the NGS and which has twice been voted into the top three gardens in the South East. She has also worked at Sissinghurst and Hole Park and has over 20 years experience in horticulture, winning medals at Chelsea, Hampton Court, Malvern and Gardeners World.
Lou’s skills are varied and include organic gardening, exotic plants, fruits and vegetables and an obsession with Auriculas and Snowdrops. This talk will concentrate on her role as head gardener and how they achieve their unique look featuring two highly ornate planting schemes throughout the year.
